Congratulations to Ignited student Lucy Choi – the winner of the $500 2024 Borgny Lauman Scholarship for Community Service! 

Lucy has an exceptional history of dedication to community work on many fronts. This includes:

– serving as the chair of the engagement committee of the Mayor’s Youth Council;

– Junior Editor of the Youth Are Awesome blog under Youth Central;

– volunteering in the emergency room at the Rockyview General Hospital ;

– Between Friends (Camp Bonaventure: Summer camp for disabled youth) volunteer;

– founded the non-profit organization called Cerebro to create an opportunity for youth who are interested in healthcare industry but haven’t had an opportunity to directly communicate with health professionals;

– volunteer of Youth Volunteer Corps; and

– volunteer at the Public Library, tutoring coding and basic computer skills to youth who are aged 4-6.

Your dedication and hard work in serving your community is truly inspiring.  Thank you for making a difference and setting a remarkable example for us all!
