We are proud to announce that our outstanding high school Mathematics teacher, Amarah Ishaque, has been awarded the Prime Minister’s Awards of Teaching Excellence! This honor was presented to her by none other than the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, alongside nine other exceptional K-12 educators from different provinces across the country. Amarah’s recognition serves as an enduring testament to her unwavering dedication to the field of education and her expertise in the realm of teaching Mathematics. She is recognized as a true “transformer” of Math education, leaving an indelible mark on her students, her school, and the families who are such an important part of our students’ successes.
Amarah is celebrated as an innovative and passionate STEAM educator, making the world of Mathematics and problem solving interesting and accessible for her students. Her classroom is a place of laughter and enthusiasm, where students collaborate and integrate cutting-edge technologies into their learning experiences. Amarah’s approach to teaching and learning is nothing short of cutting-edge, as she integrates a multitude of technologies, transforming them into hands-on, immersive, and virtual experiences. From using 3D modeling to gamification, she creates wonder in the field of STEAM. She prioritizes creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for her students where they feel not only valued but also respected and empowered. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom and reaches international heights. She continues to serve as an international BSO school inspector, seeking opportunities to collaborate with educators from around the world to implement the latest and most effective teaching practices in her own classroom. She is now focused on the integration of Artificial Intelligence into assessments and course design and is showing leadership in this new territory. She is a valued member of our learning and teaching community and she continues to inspire and influence educators and students alike.
