As we conclude the 2025/26 school year, we find ourselves reflecting on a significant milestone: Ignite Centre for eLearning has successfully completed its fifth year of operation!
What began as a vision to provide Alberta students and families with high-quality, highly supportive online learning opportunities has grown into a thriving learning community serving students across the province. Over the past five years, we have had the privilege of supporting learners with diverse goals, interests, and educational pathways, while continually striving to create meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
This year has been filled with many accomplishments worth celebrating. We have watched students discover new passions, complete challenging courses, earn dual credits and industry certifications, participate in community events, and achieve graduation milestones. We have seen families embrace personalized learning and students develop the confidence, skills, and resilience needed for future success.
At our final staff meeting of the year, we took time to reflect on and celebrate the many highlights of the past ten months. As staff members shared stories from their work with students and families, a common theme quickly emerged: the profound impact that education can have when students are supported, encouraged, cared for, and given opportunities to learn in ways that meet their unique needs.
The stories were both inspiring and humbling. We heard about students who rediscovered their confidence after struggling in previous educational settings, families who found the flexibility they needed to balance learning with life’s challenges, and graduates who achieved goals they once thought were out of reach. Story after story reminded us why Ignite exists and reinforced our belief that education can be transformative. These moments of growth, perseverance, and success are among our greatest achievements as a school.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our exceptional staff, our Board, the support of our families, and the determination of our students. We are incredibly grateful to every member of the Ignite community who has contributed to our growth and success over the past five years.
As educators, one of the greatest rewards is witnessing students achieve goals they once thought were beyond their reach. Whether a student completed a single course, graduated from high school, earned post-secondary credits, or simply discovered a love of learning, each success story is worth celebrating.
While we are proud of how far we have come, we are equally excited about the future. Education continues to evolve, and Ignite remains committed to providing innovative, student-centered learning opportunities that empower students to learn in ways that work best for them.
As we look ahead, we would like to remind families that our Summer School program begins on June 29, 2026. We also look forward to welcoming students back for the first day of the 2026/27 school year on September 1, 2026.
For now, we encourage all students, families, and staff to take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the summer months. We hope your summer is filled with adventure, laughter, family, and opportunities to create lasting memories.
