IT’S DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP WEEK!

Ignite logo

This week, we are celebrating Digital Citizenship Week at Ignite Centre for eLearning! As an online learning community, we understand the importance of being responsible and ethical digital citizens. Digital citizenship encompasses how we interact with technology and each other online. It’s about being safe, respectful, and responsible in the digital world.

For our students, we encourage you to:

  • Be mindful of your online presence. Think before you post or share anything online.
  • Respect others online. Treat others how you would like to be treated.
  • Protect your personal information. Don’t share your passwords or other sensitive information with anyone.
  • Be a responsible digital citizen. Use technology for good and help others learn about digital citizenship.

For our parents and caregivers, we encourage you to:

  • Talk to your children about digital citizenship. Have open and honest conversations about online safety, privacy, and etiquette.
  • Set limits on screen time. Help your children balance their online and offline activities.
  • Monitor your children’s online activity. Be aware of the websites they visit and the apps they use.
  • Be a role model for your children. Demonstrate good digital citizenship practices yourself.

At Ignite, we are committed to providing our students with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful digital citizens. We incorporate digital citizenship into our curriculum and provide ongoing support to our students and families.

We believe that together, we can create a safe and positive online learning environment for all.
