Support students who are unique to teach and are Alberta’s very capable future graduates and employees – their future depends on it!
There is an overwhelming need to support students who:
- need/want minimal disruptions to learning due to pandemic-related circumstances
- are medically fragile or immuno-compromised,
- struggle with mental health challenges (anxiety, etc.),
- are Indigenous,
- experienced success learning online through COVID,
- are on the autism spectrum, have ADHD or other similar diverse learning needs,
- are 2SLGBTQ+,
- need a flexible schedule to allow them to work for a living or participate in high-level sports,
- are aging out of funded education as a result of COVID-related interruptions to learning; or
- need more time to complete high school…
…and whose learning needs are best met in the safe and caring online environment available through Ignite Centre for eLearning.
These are capable students who may have historically been viewed as challenging to support from an educational perspective, but we are removing barriers to provide access to a high quality, unique education program that helps them – and all students – experience success.

DID YOU KNOW???
Every dollar raised will go directly to supporting our students and families (eg. basic living needs, field trip costs, technology needs, education assistant and youth worker supports, small class sizes, etc.). Our goal is to raise $25,000 by the end of June which will go a long way to ensuring that all students have access to our high quality online program, and providing financial support to those students and families in need.
Donations raised have contributed to many successes for students and families:
- 23 students/families received financial aid to support their educational programs, as well as basic living needs
- 2,664 hours of meetings related to mental wellness services (Child & Youth Care Practitioners, psychologist)
- All students were able to attend field trips, whether they could cover costs or not
- Our high school course completion rate increased from 66% in our first year to 98% this past school year year
- 15 students received refurbished laptops to support their programs
In addition, your donation helps to close the gap in funding received from Alberta Education (30% less than public schools, and no additional funding for students with special needs).
Our enrolments continue to rise, as do the needs of our students and families. We are so grateful for your support!
Tax receipts issued for every donation of $20 or more when this link is used and for bottle donations.
