🎉 Celebrating a Remarkable 2024–25 School Year at Ignite Centre for eLearning 🎉
As we close out another dynamic school year at Ignite Centre for eLearning, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible growth, achievements, and connections our school community made in 2024–25. It’s been a year defined by meaningful learning, innovation, and a deep commitment to student wellness and success.
🌐 A Thriving Online Community
This year, our live, online instruction model continued to flourish—bringing students from across Alberta together – and the world – in real time for engaging lessons, rich discussions, and collaborative learning experiences. Our small class sizes allowed for personalized support and deep relationships between students and educators, making learning truly student-centered.
🫶 A Safe, Inclusive Environment for All
At the heart of Ignite is our unwavering commitment to a safe and inclusive learning community. With the support of our dedicated Education Assistants, Child & Youth Care Workers, and access to Registered Psychologist services, we continued to prioritize the mental health and wellness of every student. Together, we’ve built a school culture where students feel seen, heard, and supported.
✨ Learning That Ignites Curiosity
This year was filled with exciting, project-based learning that encouraged creativity, collaboration, and real-world problem solving. Highlights included:
-
A spectacular Virtual Science Fair, where students showcased innovative experiments and findings.
-
Our Artist in Residence, Juno award-winning Maria Dunn, who inspired and guided student creativity through music.
-
Insightful Guest Speaker events, covering everything from climate change to entrepreneurship.
🤝 Virtues, Citizenship, and Connection
Through our school-wide Virtues Theme and focus on Digital Citizenship, students developed not only academic skills but also character, empathy, and leadership. Our monthly Great Gatherings—joyful, online school assemblies—became a cornerstone of community spirit and celebration.
🚀 Empowering Teens for the Future
In high school, our commitment to personalized pathways truly shone. From the Knowledge & Employability (K&E) program to Dual Credit, Work Experience, RAP, and the Green Certificate program, our students explored diverse paths to graduation and career readiness.
We were proud to support our teens through Public Speaking & Empowerment Training with Carmen Leibel and Project 5, helping them find their voices and grow their confidence as future leaders.
🧑🤝🧑😊 Beyond the Screen: Field Trips & Shared Experiences
This year, students and staff came together in person for live field trips in Edmonton and Calgary—bringing joy, connection, and unforgettable shared memories. These experiences reminded us that learning and community reach far beyond the virtual classroom.
🎉🤝Celebrating Our Partnership with Nightwind Treatment Centre
We are especially proud of our ongoing partnership with Nightwind Treatment Centre, where we provide youth with a high-quality online education program tailored to their unique needs. This collaboration reflects our commitment to ensuring all young people have access to engaging, supportive learning environments, no matter their circumstances. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference in the lives of youth, empowering them to succeed academically and personally.
🙌 Fundraising Milestones Worth Celebrating
We also want to recognize the incredible generosity and community spirit that fueled our fundraising efforts this year. In our first-ever Silent Auction, we raised an impressive $8,000, and through additional community support and initiatives, we reached a total of $19,000 toward our $25,000 annual goal. While just shy of our target, this is a huge achievement—and we’re excited to launch our next Silent Auction in November 2025. Thank you to everyone who contributed, participated, and shared in our vision!
❤️ As we reflect on the 2024–25 school year, we are filled with gratitude. To our passionate educators, support staff, families, and—most of all—our students: thank you for your energy, trust, and resilience. You’ve made this year truly exceptional.
🌞 Wishing you all a safe, joyful, and restful summer. We can’t wait to see what 2025–26 will bring!
With pride and appreciation,
